Debt Counselling

Debt counselling usually results from a change in financial circumstances caused by a number of situations. Common causes for getting over committed financially and requiring credit counselling are reduced income or changes in employment status, overuse of credit (e.g. loans, credit and store cards) and relationship problems. We are able to help and advise clients with any debt problem, no matter what your income may be.

Being in debt can be extremely stressful, however help is available. Many companies will claim to offer a debt counselling service but in practice they may just offer you another debt consolidation loan. We evaluate our client's circumstances, and then advise them on the services and products that we feel would be most beneficial to them.

As soon as you complete our on-line application form, one of our credit counsellors will assess your case. The first priority for our debt counsellors is to conduct a full review of your credit situation, allowing for essential expenditure priority debts and living expenses. The counsellor will then be able to evaluate whether you are able to offer repayment to other creditors. Dependant on your circumstances creditors maybe asked to freeze interest, stop any penalties, accept a longer repayment period and sometimes accept a reduced sum of capital.
